Il registro C40 raccoglie le riformanze (delibere) del Comune di San Gemini per alcuni anni del sedicesimo secolo; la prima data che si trova nel registro C40 è il 27 giugno 1588, l'ultima è il a 27 giugno 1596 . Questo registro contiene vari elementi: all'inizio del registro si trovana una rubrica in Italiano con la lista delle famiglie e di persone nominate nelle riformanzea seguito da un indice di argomenti trattati nelle riformanze. La rubrica è un manoscritto di 12 carte forse aggiunto forse nell'800 da Antonio Milli. Questi elementi all'inizio del registro non hanno una loro numerazione perciò gli è stata data una numerazione separata in numeri che hanno il prefisso Rub. allo scopo di ordinare le immagini digitali. L'elemento principale del registro sono le riformanze . Le riformanze sono composte da 243 carte e perciò (486 pagine). Sono incluse nte trovate nelle riformanze, son messe davanti al recto della carta con il suffisso n#.

Le pagine digitalizzate portano in fondo una targhetta con il numero della pagina composto dalla segnatura del del registro. dal numero della carta e dal lato della carta recto o verso( r, v); per esempio la prima pagina è numerata C40-c.1r l'ultima pagina è C40-c243v. Tutte le pagine incluso quelle bianche sono state fotografate.

Il dorso di questo registro ha una etichetta numerata C41, ma noi usiamo la segnatura corrente C40.

Register C40 holds the record of the meetings, decrees and local laws made by the city council of San Gemini for a few years in the 16th Century. The first dated page of this register is recorded on June 27, 1588 the last one of June 27 1596.

Register C40 is composed by various elements in the front there an index written in Italian perhaps added in the 19th Century (12 cartas); these index in the front of the register are not numerated so we provided a separate numeration with the prefix Rub.for the purpose of ordering the digital images. The main body of the register is made up by the "riformanze" (392 carte). In Italian each leaf of the register is referred as a "carta", each has two sides (pages) therefore the register contains in total 243 cartas and therefore 486 pages. There are a number of notes found in the riformanze they are included and are placed in front of the recto with the suffix n#.

Each digitized page has a label at the bottom with the number of each page which is composed of the number of the register, the carta number and the side recto or verso (r or v) for exaple the first page is numbered C40, c1r the last page C40, c243v. The first page in the index is numbered Reg.C40-Rub1r the last page Reg.C40-Rub 12v . All pages including blank pages have been digitized

The register has the number C41 on a label pasted on its back cover; we are using now the current numeration C40.
